Rooms to Let
Are you looking for the perfect house share? One where you can enjoy the facilities of a well-equipped house, often with a garden, without the worry of fluctuating bills? We have plenty of house shares in towns, villages, and seaside locations.
Why rent through us?
At Concord, we have two basic principles that we live by. Firstly, our tenants don’t just rent a home; they rent a service. Secondly, we put people before paper.
We never judge. We get to know you, your circumstances, the type of home you’d like and, most importantly, what your expectations are.
We treat everyone fairly. We do not operate on a “first come, first served” basis. Viewings are offered to all vetted applicants.
We guide and support. We realise that renting for the first time can be daunting. That’s why we offer extra support in getting everything sorted.
We’re quick to sort a problem. When something needs repairing or you have a problem, we quickly find a solution.
We’re thoughtful
We believe that our tenants have the right to quiet enjoyment of their home. That’s why we make sure our property checks are convenient and non-obtrusive, and often over a cuppa and a catch-up.
Following the first three months in your new home, we’ll drop by to check that you’ve settled in nicely and that everything is in working order. After that, we won’t drop by again until the six-month mark (and every six months thereafter) unless you want us to or there is a problem.
Steps to becoming a tenant
Every tenant’s wants and needs are different, but our step-by-step process is pretty much the same. After all, our aim is to make your road to rental a simple one.
Step 1: Getting to know you. We always start with a friendly conversation to find out more about you, your lifestyle, hopes for renting and plans for the future. We also ask for evidence of earnings, proof of address and ID.
Step 2: Finding a property. Usually, we’ll already have a suitable property in mind. This could be one that is already vacant or a property coming up for let.
Step 3: Arranging a viewing. Before inviting you to a viewing, we discuss the suitability of the property and whether you think it could work. We then arrange a viewing as soon as possible, but at a time that’s best for you.
Step 4: Making sure. Even if you instantly like the property, we encourage you to spend 24 hours to think about its suitability and chat it through with friends and family. This is to make sure you’re happy. In the meantime, we let the landlord know why we believe you would make a good tenant.
Step 5: Next steps. If you agree to the let, you’ll receive an email from us setting out what happens next, with step-by-step guidance on the process, including deposits, timeframes, monthly costs and Terms & Conditions. You will also be asked to sign a contract.
Step 6: Checking references. If you’re currently renting, we’ll ask for a landlord reference and an employer reference, which are checked using a trusted third-party referencing company.
Step 7: Keeping things moving. We continue to guide you through the entire process, keep you updated as you near your move-in date and answer any questions you may have.
Step 8: Move in day! We make sure your keys are ready and that everything is just as it should be when you walk through the door!
